Numbers 6:22-27
“Old Words for a New Year” January 4 2026 A.M. Service

As we begin a new year, this sermon reflects on the highs and lows of the past and reminds us where our true hope is found. Drawing from Numbers 6:22–27, we are invited to hear the familiar Aaronic Blessing with fresh attention—not as a wish or a prayer, but as God’s own declaration spoken over His people.

In this benediction, God promises:

  • “The Lord bless you and keep you” — His faithful protection and care through every trial.

  • “The Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you” — His loving presence and overflowing grace, ultimately revealed in Jesus Christ.

  • “The Lord turn His face toward you and give you peace” — true peace with God that sustains us, even in a troubled world.

When God’s name is placed on His people, His blessing is certain and unchangeable. As we step into a new year, we do so with confidence: God will keep us, pour out His grace, and give us His peace—no matter what lies ahead.
